ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE CHANGE
Most organisations are challenged by the need to successfully implement sustainable change. Some indications of the need for change are:
- less than optimal financial performance,
- low morale or “cultural” issues,
- absence of a clear strategic direction,
- a desire to “go to the next level”,
- A sense that “something is not quite right”
OUTCOMES ARE HISTORY BOOKS
Outcomes that are represented in Profit and Loss accounts, balance sheets and sales reports are history books written by the people in the organization. Measuring the drivers of those outcomes is critical to achieve high performance. We believe that there are two principal factors that need to be measured. One is the potential of the people and the other is the level of frustration that people experience in their work that prevents them from achieving their potential.
The Coutts & Connor method
The Coutts & Connor method of consulting is designed to measure these drivers and is considered by its clients and leading academics to be unique. It has influenced academic research.
We engage with and listen to people from Directors to the cleaners and from suppliers to customers. We validate anecdotal data with thorough statistical research. This process helps us build a picture that identifies with crystal clarity, the strengths and weaknesses of the business.
We then negotiate the implementation of changes that are indicated by this process and which will have wide acceptance and enthusiastic support throughout the enterprise. These are the ingredients of high performance.
It is only then that we provide a written report. It is said about us that “we make it happen”

LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME
We will shortly be conducting a leadership programme designed to enable staff to participate and have input into the leadership of their organization. This will be based upon a programme recently conducted at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio.
